Raphael is going to be just fabulous! We had been wanting to find a OLD MOUNTAIN FARM ELTON
JAY line buck and we have hit the jackpot. This little guy is Elton Jay on top and Creeping
Thyme Farm Blk Betty on bottom. Betty is full sister to Elton Jay. She made the Elite List, 98% Percentile at age 10. So, Raphael is top & bottom NC
PROMISEDLAND MG DIVA, PTI21: 578 (1st) PTI12: 356 (8th). That doesn't really get much
better! Actually, it can, Rapha is throwing pea sized chocolate moonspots on his kids. So,
hiding somewhere in his dark coat are some spots we have not found.
His first Day on the farm, Rapha got a bath and a clip. It is cooler where he was
born in western NY so we had to get him ready for the hot humid weather here in RI. Rapha
stood on the milkstand and quietly ate grain while I did a quick clip. He was beyond
AWESOME! Never fussed and let me do a pretty decent job. Didn't give him a show quality clip
as it was his first time and I didn't want to sour him on the stand or clipping. Really
liking this buck. He will complement our Rumpelstiltskin very well. They are already the
besties; it is really cute.
As a yearling, Rapha is just so balanced & correct. Desperately hoping our herd can
be lineared in 2025. I would love to have him appraised as I think he will do very well in
Structural Categories. His first crop of kids was in 2024 & we are liking what we are
seeing. He does stamp his kids. They all seem to have beautiful rear arches and nice wide
rear leg stances. They also seem to have really nice overall Appearance. He has had one
daughter appraise as a yearling FF, FS83 (GGGG) @ 01-07. This is incredible as she is just
such a petite dairy doe. Her mammary shows such potential.
2025 Linear Update…Rapha did really well at our appraisal. He scored a FS86 (VVV ) @
02-07 in FULL RUT with two does in heat. He received E's in Head, Rear Legs and Back. He was
scored a 42 in Rump Width, which
did surprise us. One does not see his dairy strength when compared daily to Rumpel. All the
boy's Rump Angles were skewed as they are all hunched up in the rear
while in rut. Wish there was a linear code for Rut. His dam has an E in Rump & his sire has
a G. Rapha is going
to be slow to reach his full potential. I feel he will do
much better as a 4 ½ year old buck in 2027. He is easily the best buck I own & that is
including my popsicle bucks.

Rumpelstiltskin is our first retained BREWFM buck. He is top & bottom SG NC
PROMISEDLAND MG BEAU, Ranked 2nd in PTI21. Goldie, our founding doe and best milker is
his dam. His sire, Rebel Acres SP Tanqueray is producing some really nice kids for us. We
are looking forward to working him back into our herd. We have two of his
Maternal Brother's girls in our herd. They have been slow to reach their potential,
but they are keepers. He definitely has his dam's sweet calm & quiet temperament. Our
little Rumpel is always wanting to be picked up. As a kid he was content to be carried around
like a limp rag doll, even at nine months old. Rumpel & Gold were our most adorable mother
son pair we have had. They have the same mannerism, it is uncanny.
Rumpel is a beautiful butterscotch gold just like his dam with a bit
of white. He also a good sized visible dark tan moonspot. It is on his chest just
under his front legs. He is everything we try to breed for, awesome lap dog temperament &
great milking udders. His pedigree not too shabby either. He is a solid goat & proved it
at our 2025 Linear Appraisal with a FS87 (VVE ) @ 02-06. He received an E in Feet! His
fronts are better than his rear but that might change as he matures. I can't quite
remember the appraiser's explanation, but something to do with his hip rotation. It is
hard to keep in mind he is only two and a half, as he is massive. He also received V's in
Head, Shoulder Assembly & Back. He scored a Body Depth of 42. He might eventually
best his sire in that category, but Tonic has a BD of 45.
Rumpel's first kids in 2024 are just as beautiful. He was bred to Nella
Bella, one of our more dairy dainty girls. We were hoping for kids with a bit more
strength in without losing dairyness and that is what we got. Stella Bella, Rumpel's first
daughter, blew us away at our 2025 Linear Appraisal. She scored a FS84 (VGVG) @ 01-07 as a
First Freshener. She received an E in Shoulder Assembly. Stella also had V's in
Head, Front & Rear Legs. She scored a 37 in Body Depth as a yearling! Rumpel's 2025
daughters seem to be on the same trajectory as Stella. It is going to be so much fun watching
them mature.

Tickety Boo is the result of our first foray into Artificial Insemination. He
was the
result of a much-agonized Linear Match Up. We were also very cognizant of
Inbreeding
Coefficients when selecting his sire. Tickey Boo has a Kintracks 10
generation
inbreeding coefficient of 2.626%. We were looking to improve on his dam's
Rump Angle &
Rump
Width. Agape's Prize Goldie Cox is currently ranked 5th in Rump Angle & 4th
in Rump
Width by Trait Average.
It will be a long wait to see if we have achieved what we have hoped for in
this
breeding.
Wood Bridge Farm 22K Gold, Cox's Dam, is the 2021
ADGA National Champion. Cox is also the sire of the 2023 ADGA Spotlight Sale
Buckling, Agape's Prize Gold Frenchman. Strong structural scores from his Dam, Sire &
Sire's Dam are why we settled on Cox. 22K Gold has a RA of 32, RW of 40 with a V in
Rump. Cox has 8 daughters w/nine appraisals. They average 32.2 in Rump Angle & 33.1 in Rump
Width. Cox's Old Mountian lines compliment our buck, Rapha's Old Mountian Lines nicely.
This match up also allows us to bring back in some more show oriented Wood Bridge lines to
the herd.
Lola, Tickety's Dam, has been a late bloomer. She has the best
mammary system in my herd, and it just keeps improving every lactation. In 2025, Lola was
evaluated under ode 99. We had to dry Lola off early due to a front leg injury that is now
almost healed. Our Appraiser said her slight limp was barely noticeable. She even
commented on how nice her mammary system looked even dry. Lola received E's in Front
Legs, Rear Legs & Back. She also earned V's in Head, Shoulder Assembly & Feet. Lola's sire
is out of my milkiest line, E K Farms Goldfinch. Lola's dam, Lilly has very strong milk
lines. Lilly's sire & full brother have earned their Superior Genetics.
Tickey's first kids will be hitting the ground in Spring 2026.
He will be bred to our doe, Brewfm RR Sarsaparilla. She is out of our Mockingbird dam line that has
a strong Wood Bridge line.

Tonic is Swiss marked with a minimal white and slight roaning on his hind legs. His light tan
legs have darkened to a lovely reddish brown. He has fantastic milking & show lines. Tonic
comes from a strong performing Paternal Line. Sire, SS, SSS & SDS all have earned their +B
or +S. This is one of the reasons we purchased Tonic along with his dam's 2 CH Legs & LA
results at 3 years old. Tonic is so calm and sweet. He is the first to greet visitors at the
gate. He follows me like a puppy dog when I'm in the buck enclosure, looking for
scratches.
Tonic also carries two copies of the A Variant for Alpha-s1 Casein. Some feel that the A
Variant is associated with the highest fat content in milk. I guess this will be confirmed
as more testing is done on goats. We have noticed this to be true with some of our does who
are A/A. This means he will always pass one on to his offspring. Tonic does have a negative
ETA index, he just acquired in 2021. Keep in mind the measure of a buck is how is kids do.
None of Tonic's kids been Shown or gone on DHIR Test. He has had four daughters and one son
appraise in 2023 & 2025. To learn more about PTI/ETA Indexes in our herd click on the
link.
Tonic missed out on 2021 LA's due to a tattoo mishap. We did not have time to get his
registration certificate updated to show the mistake. 2023 LA's didn't work or for Tonic
again. One of his tattoos was not completely legible & his registration certificate showed
his tattoos in the incorrect ears! He was appraised but was not given a final score. We were
planning on selling Toinc but based on his Linear Trait & Structural Scores we will be
keeping him. He scored within the Ideal Range on 5 of the 7 Linear Categories he was
appraised on & received 3 E's in Structural Categories! Based on his scores I would venture
to say he might have scored in the high 80's for a FS. Tonic did get coded for weak
pasterns. Working with our vet, Tonic is getting BoSe injections. His pasterns have improved
dramatically & it has done wonders for his libido.
2025 was not Tonic's year to be appraised yet again. His certificate still does not match
the tattoos in his ears. I will need to contact my ADGA representative to sort out how to
get this corrected as I have tried twice, and not been successful. Maybe our third try will
pay off. Our appraiser strongly suggest we get this sorted and have the herd appraised next
year. Appraiser felt Tonic was an Exceptional buck and would have scored him a 90 or 91!
Unfortunately, that will not be possible as he is over breed height limit. That is a breed
specific disqualification for Excellent in Final Score & Appearance. The highest he could
receive would be FS89 (VEE ).
Tonic seems to be a Buck sire. His son's are consistently really nice. Tonic seems to pass
on his strong structural traits to his kids. Most notably his beautiful Head, Body Depth &
Excellent Rump. Seems like his girls are late bloomers like
Tonic, but his son's are outstanding right out the door. Tonic's 1st Daughter,
Mags, is a beautiful swiss marked doe with amazing structural confirmation.
In 2023 Mags received a FS85 (VEEG) 03-04 2F w/ E's in Legs Rear, Back & Rump. Mags' first
daughter scored a FS82 (GGGG) 01-06 FF, w/V's in all Structural Categories.
We are
liking
Tonic
so much that we have retained our first BREWFM buck, his son BREWFM RUMPELSTILTSKIN, FS87
(VVE ) @ 02-06 w/43 in Body Depth. He scored an E in Feet & V's in Head, Shoulder Assembly &
Back. Rumpel's first daughter appraised with a FS85 (VGVG) @ 01-07 FF w/E in Shoulder
Assembly; V's in Head, Front Legs, Rear Legs & a Body Depth of 37. As we are having such
sucess with Rumpel's & his kids we have decided to retire Tonic after the 2025 Breeding
Season. He was bred to Kastor, who I cannot breed to Rumpel for 2026 kids. We also have pleanty of straws in the tank.

Little is awesome, nothing ruffles his feathers. Not even getting a show
clip! He is
Pale Gold w/white and abundant roaning. Little also has the most
beautiful Blue Eyes.
His kids are all super friendly and talkers. Little's pedigree is full
of great Linear
Scores, Milking Stars and Show Experience. He also carries one copy of
each A & B
Variant for Alpha-s1 Casein. We retired Little in 2025. Little was
injured by a Horned
Meat Boy in April 2025. He requires Melexicam every other day for his
comfort. His new
job is to help our little boys transition during weaning. This is
something he has
always enjoyed doing. Little will always have a home with us. Having straws
in our tank, allows us to put his needs first.
Little has been appraised three times at Linear Appraisals. He is a good
goat with terrible front end. However, all his girls seem to be
improvements on thier dams. Little has had five daughters appraised with six
appraisals. We will have
another of his daughters freshen in 2026 & one in 2027. In our herd,
Little
is passing on improvements in fore-udder, udder depth, rear arch &
attachment to his
daughters. He is very refined, so it is best not to breed him to refined
does. His girls
are all the daintiest dairy darlings with ideal temperaments.
Little's dam & sire did just acquire a negative PTI Index. Little
also
was just given a
ETA Index in Jan 2022. His score is also negative and is based on his
parents. His index
scores have been steadily improving. We are not overly concerned with
this as we can see
how awesome his kids are turning out. As his girls are appraised & go on
test, we should
see Little's scores adjust.
